Today I Will Listen
to
My Inner Wisdom
Sometimes I listen too much to the harsh commanding
voices that buzz inside my head. "Don't disobey your teacher.
Father always knows best. Do what all adults tell you to do
Do not talk back. Behave yourself! Act your age!
Don't ask any questions, just do it !
If you are lost then ask a police officer for help."
I am a child who listens to authority and who obeys without
thinking. But those old voices do not always have my best
interest at heart.
Today I will still those chattering voices. I will
muffle the noise until it fades away altogether. I
want to hear only one voice, the strong, clear voice of
my own inner wisdom. Deep within is a strong, knowing self
whose wisdom astounds me. Today I will listen as words of
wise counsel resonate throughout my whole being.
I do know what is right for me.
I carry my own answers within me.
If I listen, I will hear.
