she stands by her window each evening watching the sun set
the night begins to unfold...darkness replaced by moonlight
and she wishes on the stars above...one by one
do they hear her wish or is it all in vain
does he hear her heart beat...does he feel her pain
does he know she how much she needs him

alone most of the time she has time to think
deep into her inner soul she goes...thoughts run wild
how did she get in this place...and why does she stay
their forever seems so very far away

then she remembers
the touch of his soft lips against hers
the smell of his skin...the sound of his voice
the look in those blue eyes as she walks
into the room...the way he holds her hands
the sadness in his face as she drives away...

she reaches up...touching the locket around her neck
it's much more than just gold...it holds a heart and soul
given in love and promises of many more tomorrow's
she gently strokes it...and remembers
why she loves him so

~a lifetime just is not enough to love you~
