Eternity

As I sit alone on the floor in my room...
my heart flutters gently remembering the very
first time you came to me
We had waited for this moment so long
to hold one another close...to look into the others eyes
Yet the excitement was almost more than I could take
Not sure what you felt....what you were thinking
Was your heart beating as fast as mine

I looked up and there you were...my knees were like jello
and then you smiled at me...those blue eyes twinkled
You slowly walked to me and I too you
Gently you touched my hand...you knew I what I was feeling
You pulled me close to your body...warm strong arms held me
so very tight...Oh how natural it felt
Was I in heaven....or was this another dream

Softly pulling the door tightly closed behind us
I turned to look at you...all fears disappearing
As I looked into your eyes...I knew with all my heart
that the love that bound us was so very rare
I heard my lover's soft voice whispering quiety
I love you

Gentle keeper of my heart you will always be
This was no dream...this was reality
No matter what our future holds...no matter how long
it might take...bound by heartstrings so tight
we knew we would be together that very night
